Backings

Backings make placement of objects in the Standard view more convenient for perception. Backings are for informational purposes only, they are not involved in monitoring processes.

Backings do not have IDs. Backing change history can be seen in the change log of the parent object.

A backing name, in contrast to an object name, can be empty.

Backing creation

In order to create a new backing it is sufficiently to:

  • click the button image in the Main toolbar

    (a backing name will be required);

  • select the field image in the context menu

    (a new backing with the empty Name field will be created immediately).

Backing context menu

With the right click on a backing the backing context menu appears. Using the menu, a backing can be renamed, deleted or cloned.

When a backing is cloned, the elements on the backing are not cloned.
